In India the word kravyad ("flesh eater") refersto anything that consumes flesh, including ani-mals, cannibals, and funeral pyres. There is also a type of vampiric sprit that is called kravyad because it feeds off human flesh. It is a hideously ugly thing with teeth made of iron.
